DAY 1: HANOI – THAC BA LAKE ( 180KM)
What makes our motorbike tour different from other ones is the off-roads and out-of-track paths. We not only take tourists through the sealed and smooth roads but also offer you with wonderful and challenging moments. Don’t worry, we make sure that your safety is still our highest priority even with the rugged roads and winding trails.
Our Vietnam motorbike tour arrives in Thac Ba lake at 4:00 pm. After that, we will have one relaxing hour on Thac Ba lake to sightsee the magnificent landscapes around. We will stay overnight in the local house of Dzao people, have a warm and hospitable night with local people here. It ends the 1st day of the journey with north Vietnam motorbike tours.
DAY 2: THAC BA LAKE – SAPA ( 210KM)
Morning, keep riding along Thac Ba lake and see the masterpiece of nature with Northern Vietnam motorbike tours. You can see the massive view of mountains, green lake,s and rice paddy fields.
We will stop for lunch in Pho Rang town. Then our motorbike crew to the north continues to Sapa, take a stop near the Chinese border to see this country from Vietnam.
We arrive in Sapa at about 4:30 pm. This 2nd night is dedicated for you to explore that romantic town before we start a new route tomorrow.
DAY 3: SAPA – THAN UYEN (110KM)
Morning, ride around Sapa valley to visit tranquil villages with the local life of indigenous people. You are supposed to learn more about Vietnamese culture and see the majestic view of Muong Hoa valley.
Afternoon, We will ride to Than Uyen, another highlight of the journey. We will cross the O Quy Ho pass- one of the longest and most beautiful passes in the North of Vietnam.
This trail is followed by a sealed road through green tea plantations. Vietnam motorcycle team arrives in Than Uyen at 5:00 pm. It brings to the end of the 3rd day in a lovely hotel.
DAY 4: THAN UYEN – MU CANG CHAI – PHU YEN ( 220KM)
Morning, our journey on motorbike keeps heading to Mu Cang Chai and Phu Yen at roughly 8:30 am. The motorbike tour today is one of the greatest parts of the whole motorbike tour in North Vietnam when we pass mountain roads will vast terraced fields and many tranquil villages of hill tribes. Getting out of the town, we keep riding along the Da River, one of the biggest rivers in the north of Vietnam. This riding along Da River is one of the most interesting parts of our adventures because this route is not mainstream and still strange to tourists.
We will arrive at Mai Chau at 4:30 pm. Arrive at the home stay of friendly Thai people, you are free to walk around and explore this touristic town with many activities to join.
DAY 6: MAI CHAU – TAN KY ( 270KM)
Since the 6th day of the Vietnam motorbike tours, we will start to hit the Ho Chi Minh Trail and explore the center of Vietnam by motorbike. After seeing off the host in Mai Chau, we will have a very exciting motorbike ride to explore the rustic villages of Thai people and sightsee the green paddy fields.
This motorbike tour of central Vietnam continues to Tan Ky town at 5:00 pm.
“Tan Ky town is considered as the starting point of this legendary Trail- Ho Chi Minh Trail. This was the gathering place of army forces and the starting point to transport foods and stuff to the battlefields in the south of Vietnam.
DAY 7: TAN KY – PHONG NHA ( 280KM)
This long route with Vietnam motorbike tours on Ho Chi Minh Trail today promises many beautiful attractions. We will ride to Phong Nha Ke Bang national park. You can see the vast primitive forests and system of limestone mountains, widely stretch along with the Truong Son mountain range. This geological structure is named Karst, which you can see in many places like Ha Long Bay, or other regions in Asia, but Phong Nha is considered the oldest major karst area in Asia.
We arrive in Phong Nha at roughly 4:30 pm. After that, with the time condition is ideal, we can enjoy a boat tour or explore some famous caves in this area.

From Phong Nha to Khe Sanh. mostly, we ride on the trail, This Trail is known as the hidden trail to avoid the bomb of the US Army, which runs through the Phong Nha –Ke Bang national park. In a distance of more than 200km, you are supposed to see more landscapes and relics than motorbikes. This part is the highlight of the whole Vietnam motorbike tours from North to South on the Ho Chi Minh trail.
We will finish the great western Vietnam Motorbike Tour Ho Chi Minh Trail and have one overnight in Khe Sanh, before heading to other landmarks.
DAY 9: KHE SANH – VINH MOC TUNNEL – HUE ( 180KM)

We will ride through the history road No 9 and ride closer to sea direction. Our motorbike crew will pass the Hien Luong bridge- the boundary between North and South of Vietnam in the American war, the museum of the 17th parallel, and Vinh Moc tunnel.
“Vinh Moc is a tunnel complex located in Quang Tri, Vietnam. This one was in a strategic location, served as a bomb shelter for local people in Son Trung and Son Ha communes of Vinh Linh districts in the Vietnamese Demilitarized zone.
Arrive in Hue city in the late afternoon. Check-in hotel and relax for another great day of adventures.
DAY 10: HUE CITY TOURS (B, L)
After breakfast, we will have a sightseeing day to explore the hidden charm behind its ancient history. We can take the short motorbike tour around Hue to the suburban areas to see the tombs of Kings and Lords, or we can have a bus tour around that city. Stay overnight in Hue City.
DAY 11: HUE – HOI AN (170KM)
On the last day with Vietnam motorbike tours Ho Chi Minh Trail, we will have wonderful experiences when getting out of Hue and hitting the roads to Hoi An. Our motorcycle crew will cross the Hai Van pass, one of the best passes in Vietnam; we also can see the fishing villages along the bay when riding on the coastal roads.

Road conditions: Most of the roads from Hanoi to Sapa, Mai Chau, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Dong Ha, Hoian, are paved roads, village roads, and hilly passes in the Northwest, but not a big challenges. The total driving distance for 11 days is around 1900 km, as a group size of 02 -05 riders, we will arrange 01 experienced guides setting an even pace and stop often to visit points of interest and sample some of the local food. For a group size from 06 -12 riders, we will arrange 02 guides or 01 mechanics.
DRIVING GRADE
Moderate Grade means these tours involve active, physically required activities up to 04– 06 hours per day.
Who suits: Recommended for moderate fitness travelers
Activity: 4-6 hours most days
Distances per day: driving 90 – 150 miles (or 150 – 240km) most days
The bikes you will be riding are Honda CRF 250cc, Honda XR150cc, Honda XR125cc, Honda Fortune 125cc, or Honda Automatic 125cc
Basic spares and tools are carried by the guide.
Wearing a helmet is required on all our driving adventures and is nonnegotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you will not be allowed to drive. Your tour leader is trained in first aid and emergency rescue, but to a large degree, you must be responsible for your own safety while riding. It is therefore compulsory that you take out travel insurance that will cover you for a motorcycle tour.
You will be led by a local English-speaking guide and if the group is 9 people or more we will add another guide to the tour. All our guides are well informed in the history, culture, and religions of the area where you are biking and are skilled at passing that knowledge on to you. Your guide is also medically trained and an experienced local guide, able to handle most minor repairs en route.
THE DRIVING DAYS
A typical driving day starts at about 7.30 am after breakfast. Lunchtimes can vary depending on the distance. We aim to reach the next overnight stop by 4.30 or 5:00 pm. During the driving, we will have short breaks for rest, snack, and photographing.
Depending on the distance and the terrain the driving day can be part-drive part-ride or riding the whole way.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH?
We recommend that you visit a travel medical doctor and ask about the following vaccinations: typhoid, polio, tetanus, and hepatitis A. A certificate for Yellow Fever is required when arriving from an infected area within six days.
The weather in Vietnam is split into two distinct weather patterns Tropical and temperate zone. The average temperature ranges from 22 to 27 degrees all year round but in the South, temperatures can stay almost the same. The Southern part of Vietnam has 2 distinct seasons. The cold season is from November to April and the hot season from May to October. Whilst in the North there are 4 seasons with distinct differences between them. It can get cool in the winter but very warm in the summer.
Most meals are included in your trip price apart from non-cycling days and some other exclusions. Please check the itinerary for full details. If you have a special dietary request, please advise us at the time of booking. Most diets can be catered for, but it is always important to advise us in advance.
Rice is the staple food in Vietnam. Soup with rice noodles is a national dish. Recipes for main meals make use of vegetables, meat and fish. Herbs and spices used in food preparation include basil, coriander, lemon grass, mint and black pepper. Other ingredients are garlic, onions, ginger and lime juice. There are a numerous types of noodles eaten at all times of the day and noodle and rice based snacks wrapped in rice paper or leaves are available. Desserts include a variety of cakes and fresh fruit (bananas, durians, guavas, jackfruit, mangoes, oranges, persimmons and pineapples). Popular drinks are tea, coffee and beer. The local spirit is rice wine.
Keeping you completely hydrated is a job we take very seriously. Coldwater, some energy-restoring local fruit, and soft drinks are included in the tour price while riding. Soft drinks and other beverages during meals are not included. Beer is freely available everywhere but is NOT included in the price.
Countryside Adventures does not require you to pay a surcharge for traveling alone. We will arrange for you to share accommodation with another traveler of the same gender and if we can not match you up we will provide a single room at no extra charge. If you prefer not to share a single supplement is payable to guarantee your own room. The cost of the single supplement is listed above.
HOTELS AND HOMESTAY
In big towns, we use the finest 3-star with the center location. Please contact us if you prefer a higher hotel category. In remote areas, we use the best hotels or guest houses available.
Homestay in villages is basic in term of bedding condition and amenities. We will sleep on bed or floor with mattress, clean sheet, pillows and mosquito nets. Toilet is usually western style.

When booking your tour, you’ll be required to pay a deposit to guarantee your place. For tours less than 7 days, the deposit amount is 100% of the tour price, per rider. For tours 7 days or longer, the deposit amount is 30% of the tour price, per rider.
Day tours and tours shorter than 7 days require full payment at the time of booking. For tours 7 days or longer, full payment must be paid 45 days before the departure date with fees for any bicycle rental(s), single supplement(s) and extra hotel nights. Our confirmation will include personal details you provided us (including your flight information), visa application advice, a packing suggestion list, and a detailed tour itinerary. It will also include a checklist to ensure you get everything ready for your holiday.
On the rare occasions when we, Countryside Adventures, must cancel a trip, all payments received to date will be 100% refunded, which constitutes full settlement. There will be absolutely no deductions. If you, the client, must cancel your reservation, your cancellation fee will be determined according to when you cancel.
