Day 2 Phnom Penh to Kirirom. B
Start the day with a transfer to Phnom Dat Chivit located in Kirirom National Park. Meet your trekking guide and begin your 2 hours of walking up to the top of Dat Chivit Mountain.
En route, you can see birds fly in the pine forest, and rocks of all shapes lie on the mostly flat ground. On the peaceful top of Dat Chivit Mountain, you can get breathtaking views of the surroundings. Usually, there are a couple of eagles flying around as it is probably their kingdom. Overnight in Kirirom.
Day 3 Kirirom to Phnom Penh, Half Day City Tour. B
Get up early to enjoy a beautiful sunrise and see birds’ morning hustle. After that, walk 45 minutes to a 40-meter high waterfall to swim in the natural pool. Then go back to the guesthouse for breakfast, followed by an exploration of the local rural life.
Afterward, drive back to Phnom Penh to have a city tour. First, visit the Silver Pagoda which is decorated with about 5000 silver tiles on the floor, and the Royal Palace where the Khmer royal family lives. After that, tour the National Museum where you can see a large collection of Khmer history, arts, and architecture. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 4 Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. B
After breakfast, drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, taking about 7.5 to 8 hours including the stops to visit some attractions along the way.
En route, you will first stop in Kompong Thom town to visit the ruined temples in Sambor Prei Kuk, the ancient capital of the Khmer between the 6th and 7th centuries. The second stop will be at the Naga Bridge built in the 12th century. It is well reserved and now still used by local people. Arrive in Siem Reap in the afternoon. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5 Siem Reap Hiking Experience. B
After breakfast, take a tuk-tuk to Angkor Thom. Your hiking will start from the South Gate. Along the ancient city wall, walk towards the West Gate and make a stop to visit the Corner Temple. Near the West Gate, visit the village outside the city wall where you can see the daily life of local villagers.
Then, walk inside the ancient city of Angkor Thom. First, visit the Bayon Temple where you will be surrounded by 216 gigantic stone faces which fame as “Khmer Smile”, followed by the Terrace of Elephants, the Royal Palace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Continue to hike north to get away from the crowded tour groups and walk through the forests to the Temple Preah Khan and Ta Keo Temple.
Your easy hiking tour will finish in Ta Prohm Temple, which is widely known as “lost to the jungle temple”. You will be pick up by Tuk Tuk from Ta Prohm Temple and transfer back to the hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to relax. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6 Phnom Kulen National Park Hiking. B
Today, you will take an excursion to Phnom Kulen National Park. Drive out of the hassle city at 8:30 am, pass tranquil countryside, and finally arrive at Phnom Kulen, a beautiful national park that provides a great place to cool off and the stunning nature to see.
Phnom Kulen used to be the ancient capital city in 802AD after King Jayavarman II was initiated as the royal “God of the King”. Walk to visit Preah Ang Thom, a reclining giant Buddha statue. Continue to witness the historical site of 1000 linga carvings under the riverbed.
Also, head to see the secret pool where the white clear water comes out of the ground all year round. Then go to the cool waterfall where you can refresh, bathe, and swim. Near the waterfall, there are some local huts where you can stop to enjoy local lunch and have fresh coconut.
In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to the hotel.
